John Joyce

John died peacefully at Galway University Hospital on Sunday evening, 8th March 2026. He was the dearly beloved son of the late Jack and Margaret, and brother of the late Olive, Peadar (Kinvara), Keyna (Falcarragh, Co. Donegal), Maire and Martin.

John’s kindness and gentle presence touched many lives. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his nieces and nephews: Leslie, Jane, Susan, and Peter; Mairéad, John, Paula, Sinéad, Declan,and Paul; by his sister-in-law Mary; by his grand-nieces and grand-nephews; cousins; the extended Joyce, Barrett, Ryan and Donnellan families; and by his wonderful neighbours and friends.

Though he was single, he was never alone. John had a unique way of bringing people together and was dearly loved by all who knew him.

Thursday, 12th March, 2026

John will lie in Repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, (H91V1K8) from 5.30 p.m. with Removal at 7.00 p.m. to the Church of Christ the King, Salthill.

Friday, 13th March, 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for John at 11.00 a.m. Following Mass, he will be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery.
