The death has occurred of John Keenan, Annalitten, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan and late of Brid A Crinn, Dundalk, Co. Louth. Tuesday October 7th peacefully at Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda.
John, came to Ireland from Liverpool in 1968. He worked as Senior Development Officer for FÁS (now SOLAS) in the Monaghan region, where he made a lasting contribution to local enterprise and training.
John had a wide range of interests, including the Scouting movement, the Castleblayney Show, and the Cúchulainn Archery Club. A talented archer, he proudly represented Ireland in international competition, winning gold medals at both European and World Championships.
Beyond his professional and sporting achievements, John was a devoted gardener, generously sharing his fruit and vegetables with family and neighbours.
He is deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Predeceased by his parents John and Mary, brother Tommy and sister Mary Bailey.
John is remembered with love by his family, wife Gay, daughter Nicola, son Sean, son in-law Rory, daughter in-law Jan, his cherished grandchildren Sunny, Hugh, Liam, Eoin and Fleur, brother Denis, sister Terry Lewis, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

John will repose at Wards Funeral Home, Dublin Rd, Castleblayney (A75NP30) on Friday October 10th from 4pm until 7pm. A celebration of John’s life will be held in Wards Funeral Home, Castleblayney on Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm followed by a private cremation.
