John Kingston

Kingston, Skerries, Ranelagh, late of Moneygaff East, Coppeen Enniskeane, West Cork, John, 21st July 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family, under the excellent care of the staff of Rush Nursing Home, in his 96th year, founder of John Kingston Hardware, Merrion Row, Pembroke Street and Skerries, founder member of DIY Hardware Ireland, later to become National Hardware, Arrow Hardware and then Homevalue Hardware. Predeceased by his late wife Patty, parents William and Hannah, brother Sam, sister Susie Galvin (Templemartin). Sadly missed by his sons Thomas, Gary, Peter, Eoin and Karl, grandchildren Stephanie, Emma, Shane, Conor, Sean, Saoirse, Killian, Robyn, Alex and Odhrán, daughters-in-law Heidi, Karen, Jurga and Christine, sisters Norma, Mary and Anna, nieces Mary, Bláithín, Caitríona and Áine, grandnephews Séan and Éanna, grandniece Aoibhín, nephew-in-law Oistín, Colm and Conall, best friend Joe Halpin, friends and colleagues in Knights of Saint Columbanus, Legion of Mary, Pioneer Association whom John was President, John was awarded the Fr. Cullen medal for being a pioneer 85 years.

Reposing at Duff’s Funeral Home, Skerries, K34 C427, Thursday 24th July from 6 - 8pm. (Rosary at 7.30pm). Removal Saturday 26th July to Saint Patrick’s Church for 12pm Funeral Mass, click the link to view online: St Patrick's, Skerries. Following John will be laid to rest with his late wife Patty at Holmpatrick Cemetery, Skerries, family flowers only.
