John Mahon

The death has occurred of John Mahon, Oughterard, Co. Galway and formerly Dublin, Sweden and Athy, Co. Kildare.

John reluctantly but peacefully left us, in his 92nd year, in his happy place at home with family, after a short illness that he was carefully guided through by the wonderful palliative care team and the local Medical Centre in Oughterard, along with our in-family nurse, Leonie.

He was the beloved husband and best friend of his wife of 63 years, Ann, devoted father to Stephanie, Seán, Dónal, Brian and Áine, and adored grandfather to Luka, Ciara, Conor, Emma, Malva, Ben and Oisín, and cherished father-in-law to Leonie, Moa and Wendy. He will be much missed by extended family and friends.

He will be joining his mother and father, Hannah and John Mahon and his brothers Fred and Austin.
He has left a deep void in our hearts and lives.

Reposing at Walsh’s Funeral Home, Oughterard (H91EV52) on Monday, 11th November from 5 pm with removal at 6.30 pm to the Church of Immaculate Conception, Oughterard. Requiem Mass on Tuesday 12th, of November at 11 am.
Followed by Cremation in Shannon Crematorium on Wednesday 13th of November at 11am.
