John McGuinness
John McGuinness, (The Captain), The Square, Blackrock, Co. Louth. Passed away peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Sunday 30th November 2025, after being lovingly cared for by the staff of Blackrock Abbey. John (Former member of Louth County Council and Harbour Commission), beloved husband of the late Maureen née hoey (June 2024), dear father of Paula, Dermot, Brenda and Kevin, loving grandad of Stefan, Darren, Shauna, Nessa and Aobha, brother of the late Matt, Jim, Peter, Ella, Pat, Richard, Tom and Eddie. John will be sadly missed by his sons, daughters, grandchildren, son-in-law Darren, daughters-in-law Martina and Robyn, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

John will repose at McGeoughs Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street, (A91XW66) from 2pm until 7pm on Tuesday Removal on Wednesday afternoon at 1.30pm from his son Dermot’s Home, (A91 X7W3) walking to St. Oliver Plunkett Church, arriving for Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St. Fursey’s Cemetery, Haggardstown.
