John Monaghan

The death has occurred of John Monaghan, Ardhoom,  Meelick,  Swinford,  Co. Mayo and formerly of Johnstown,  Killulagh,  Delvin,  Co. Westmeath on 15th October 2021,  peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Mayo Hospice,  Castlebar,  surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents, Richard and Mary,  his wife Doreen,  brothers  Danny,  Richie  and  Larry and his sister Marion.

He will be sadly missed by his partner Judith,  sister Teresa Core  (Mullingar),  sister-in-law Maureen,  nephews, nieces,  grand nephews,  grand nieces, extended family,  relatives,  neighbours and friends. 

John worked for many years in the mines in Alaska and also in Canada.   He also worked on the railways in London and in later years in the Colleges in Bolton UK.

John will repose at Kilcoyne's Funeral Home, Thomas Street,  Castlebar, on Wednesday, 20th October, from 10.00 am  with removal at 11.00 am to St. Luke's Church, Meelick, Swinford via Old Castle Gates and Meelick Community Centre  arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by removal to Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road,  Cavan, arriving for service at 4.00pm.

Family flowers only,  donations in lieu, if desired, to Mayo Hospice,  Castlebar c/o Kilcoyne Funeral Directors,  Thomas Street,  Castlebar.
