John passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family in Mallow General Hospital on Saturday, February 21st, 2026.

 

Beloved husband of the late Bernie (née Heffernan) and much loved father of Michael, Tracey (Stapelton), Katie, Billy and Sandra.

 

Cherished grandfather of Michael, Danny, Jackson, Anthony, Brona, Daniel, Emelia, Harvey and Sophia.

 

Dear brother of Breda, Nuala, Úna, Joan, Mary, Riney, Geraldine and the late Anne, Norma and Billly.

 

Deeply missed by sons-in-law Frankie and Shane, daughters-in-law Caroline and Mekayla, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Hawe - O'Keeffe's Funeral Home (P56 YY15), Bakers Road, Charleville, on Tuesday evening from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, followed by prayers and Reception into St. Peter and Paul Church, Dromina.

 

Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning at 11:00am, after which John will be laid to rest in Newtownshandrum 'old' Cemetery.

 

 

The family would like to thank Dr. Joyce, staff at Mallow General Hospital and his friend Jim Donegan.
