NEYLON John. Knockroe, Boston, Tubber, Co. Clare. Peacefully on the 16th of March, 2026, in the tender care of the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital Galway, surrounded by his devoted and loving family.
Pre - deceased by his parents John and Mary Neylon, sister Olive and some great friends.
It is with much sadness the Neylon family announce the sad passing of John. John will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend Liz (née Kilroy), by his loving children Kate, Tom, Julie, Jack and Mary-Eileen. Remembered fondly by his daughters-in-law Grainne and Roisin, sons-in-law John, Niall and Shaun, by his cherished grandchildren Grace, Rose, Sophie Anna, Chloe Elizabeth, Conor, Rían, Cora, Ruby and Jack. Sadly missed by his dear cousins Esther & Martin, by all his extended family, great neighbours and his wide circle of friends.

John will lie in repose in All Saints Church, Boston, Tubber, Co. Clare (H91 N263) on Thursday evening March 19th from 4pm until 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday March 20th at 12 noon. John will be laid to rest afterwards in Kiltackey cemetery Boston. Family flowers only please, donations in John’s memory can be made to the Patient Comfort Fund I.C.U, University Hospital Galway. House Strictly private please. The funeral mass will be livestreamed on the following link https://funeralslive.ie/john-neylon/ . People attending the funeral are asked to please adhere to the stewards and one way traffic system in place enter via Boston castle and exit via the direction of the traffic stewards.
The family deeply appreciates your kindness and support at this time. We wish to thank all who cared for John during his illness, Dr. Richard Joyce and Gort Medical Centre, Dr. Hayat U.H.G, the wonderful staff of the Claddagh Ward and Intensive Care Unit, University Hospital Galway. Finally, a special word of thanks to our wonderful family, neighbours and friends for all they have done to help us in these difficult days.
