John O'Neill

John O’Neill of Greystones formerly Delgany, Co. Wicklow. January 13th 2026 peacefully surrounded by his adored family, while in the exceptional care of all the staff St. Vincent’s University Hospital and previously at The Greystones Nursing Home.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Irene O’Neill (née Cullen), niece Sylvia Molloy, sister-in-law Phyllis MacFerran, brothers-in-law Gerald Cullen and the recently deceased Denis (Dinny) Molloy.

Remembered with love by his family, son Gordon, daughter Karen, brothers Peter and Michael, daughter-in-law Deirdre, son-in-law David, cherished grandchildren Alice, Kealin, Maebh, Daniel and Lucy,
sisters-in-law Pippins Parkinson, Jennifer Cullen, Sylvia Molloy and Marjo O’Neill, brother-in-law John Cullen, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Mark Kinsella’s Funeral Home Main Street Newtownmountkennedy (A63 X456) from 4pm until 6pm on Friday (January 16th). Ceremony to celebrate John’s life at 10am in The Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium on Saturday (January 17th).

John’s family wish to thank Min and all the wonderful staff at The Greystones Nursing Home who looked after John exceptionally well during his short stay with them, also the Doctor’s nurses and team in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, for all their professional care and support shown to John and his family while he was in their care.
