J passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024. Born Wednesday, July 24, 1985 in Dublin, Ireland, John was the son of John Doolin and Leslie McCartney. John, known to family and friends as J, was raised in Wicklow, Ireland and graduated from Oatlands College and Dun Laoighaire Senior College with a degree in Carpentry. J lived for a time in New Zealand and Australia, before settling in New Jersey and was due home to Ireland in the near future. J would meet and marry the love of his life, Dana Tomaszewicz. The couple lived in Keansburg and started a family of their own, having two daughters; Terra and Kaya. J owned and operated Burl & Knot Custom Carpentry. He loved his job, and was proud of the work he did. J enjoyed snowboarding and hiking, and also DJing. More than anything J enjoyed being with his family and playing with his children. He was a caring man who will be missed by all those that love him and any that met him. J is survived by his beloved wife, Dana, by his cherished daughters Terra and Kaya, by his loving parents, John and Leslie, and by his caring siblings, Nigel, Brian, Lainey, Tallulah, and Indigo.

J will be reposing at McCrea’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Wicklow Town (A67E003) from 11.00am on Friday, 22nd November, with removal at 12.00 noon to McCrea’s Chapel in the adjoining building for a celebration of life service for all those who wish to attend. For those unable to attend the Service can be viewed by clicking on McCrea's Chapel (viewing at time of service only) followed by interment in Woodbrook Natural Burial Grounds, Wexford.
