John (Sean) Counihan

COUNIHAN, John (Sean) (Palmerstown, Dublin 20 and formerly of Drimnagh, Dublin 12 and Tralee, Co. Kerry) April 14th., 2026 (peacefully) surrounded by his loving family in the care of the wonderful staff at St. Kevin’s Ward, St. James Hospital. Much-loved husband of Eileen for sixty three years and adored father to Declan, Deirdre and Ciarán. Predeceased by his sisters Anna and Mary; John will be sadly missed by his family, brother Daniel, daughters-in-law Marian and Nicola, Deirdre’s partner Bill grandchildren Darragh, Katie, Emma, Jasmine, Abbie and Joshua, sisters-in-law Vera and Ann, nieces, nephews and his wide circle of friends and neighbours.

Reposing at home on Friday evening (April 17th) between 5 pm and 8 pm. Removal on Saturday morning (April 18th) to St. Philomena’s Church, Palmerstown arriving for Funeral Mass at 10 am followed by burial in Esker Cemetery.
