John (Sean) Merrigan
John (Sean) Merrigan
formerly of
Oxford and Dún Laoghaire.
On August 14th, 2025, peacefully in the loving care of staff at Bantry General Hospital, SEAN loving husband of Mary née Kennedy, beloved son of the late John and Bridget, dear brother of Liam, the late Harry, Vincent, Michael and Noel, brother-in-law of the late Paddy, Tommy and Nora. Sadly missed by his loving wife, brother Liam and the extended Merrigan families, Marys nephew’s Finbarr and his wife Kate, John Paul and his wife Emma, adored grandniece Sophie, Ciara, Thomas. Luke, Niamh, Liam and Óisin, kind neighbours, carers and friends.
May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Coakley’s Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry on Friday August 15th from 6pm to 7pm with vigil prayers at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday August 16th at 12noon at St Finbarr’s Church, Bantry (to view live stream click here) followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery, Bantry. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to the friends of Bantry General Hospital, c/o Bantry General Hospital.
