John Steele

It is with deep sadness we announce the death of John Steele,Dublin Hill, Cork, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday 11th March 2026, after a short illness, bravely borne. He was surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at Cork University Hospital. John (Stonemason), dearly beloved husband of the late Kathleen (née Murphy), devoted father of Mark, Michelle and Alan. Predeceased by his brothers Pat, Andy and Eamonn.

 

Sadly missed by his loving family, grandchildren Ann-Maire, Caitlín, JJ, son-in-law John, daughters-in-law Yvonne (née McCarthy), Yvonne (née Duffessy), his brother Dr Frank, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

 

May John’s Soul Rest in Peace.

 

Reposing at Keohane’s Funeral Home, Knights Hill, Old Youghal Road, Mayfield, Cork, on Friday the 13th March from 5-6pm, with prayers at 5:45pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday the 14th March at 11.00am in St. Oliver’s Church, Ballyvolane followed by cremation at The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy.

 

Family flowers only, donations in memory of John can be made to a Charity of your choice.
