The death has occurred of
JOHN (The Chief) HENNESSY
JOHN HENNESSY (Roche’s Terrace, Midleton) (The Chief). Late of Healy Bros, Mile Bush. Past Secretary Midleton GAA, Past President and Past Chairperson East Cork GAA Board.
John passed away on June 13th 2024 peacefully in his 89th year, surrounded by his loving family in the tender care of the staff at Marymount Hospice, Cork. Predeceased by his loving wife Angela, his son-in-law Anthony Wall and his sisters Marie, Noreen and Josephine.
Much loved father of Elaine, Carolanne, Kevin, John, Angela, Deirdre, Yvonne, Barbara and Larissa. Sadly missed also by his grandchildren Caoimhe, Seán and Megan, James, David, Harry and Hannah, Aoife and Sadhbh, Lily and Adam, Jake, Tomás and Lara, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
May John Rest In Peace.
John will repose at Hyde’s Funeral Home, Drury’s Avenue, Midleton on Sunday 16th from 5pm-7.30pm followed by reception into the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Midleton.
Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
