John Thompson,

In his 92nd year, passed away peacefully

in Mallow General Hospital surrounded by his loving family

on March 5th 2025.

Husband of the late Kit and a loving father to Liam, Brian, Marion (Fitzpatrick), Val and John Bosco.

John will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family, sister Genie,dear grandchildren; Niamh, Áine, Ailish, Jack, Cian, Maeve, Matthew, Kate, Hugh, Ronan and Elaine, son-in-law Sean, daughters-in-law; Mary, Cáit and Cathy, cousins, relatives, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Hannon's Funeral Home Doneraile on Friday evening, March 7th from 6.30pm to 8pm followed by removal to St Nicholas' Church, Churchtown.

Requiem Mass on Saturday, March 8th at 12noon followed by burial in St Brigid's Cemetery, Buttevant.

Messages of sympathy may be left for John's family in the condolence book below.

 

The Thompson family greatly appreciated the care and kindness shown to John in the final years of his life by

the carers who supported and cared for John in his own home,

Windmill Nursing Home, Churchtown where John lived and spent the last year of his life with all the support of the nurses, carers and staff.

and finally, the nurses doctors and staff of Mallow General Hospital where John received exceptional tender loving care in his final days
