John William Tobin, Glin Demesne, Glin, Co. Limerick (formerly Ballylemon, Dungarvan, Waterford) passed away peacefully in the close attendance of his family at University Hospital Limerick on the evening of Saturday, August 30th 2025. A gentle, strong hearted and devoted Husband, Brother, Father and Grandfather, loved by all who knew him and sadly missed by his wife of 62 years, Jean, Sons Mark and Iain, daughters-in-law Siobhán and Sinéad, Grandchildren Ella, Harry, James and Orla, adopted daughter Sandy, brother Richard, sister Margaret, nephews Jeremy and Matthew and wider family and friends.
The family would like to express their immense gratitude to those who looked after him at home over the last few years and especially Jacinta who went above and beyond to support him and his wife Jean.
They would also like to acknowledge and thank the dedicated nurses and carers of ward 3D at University Hospital Limerick who made him as comfortable as possible in his last days.
Welcoming all to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin, Co. Limerick on Monday 1st September from 6.30 - 7.30pm for sympathies to family, followed by funeral service at 7.30pm. Reposing overnight in the church followed by removal to Shannon Crematorium for cremation on Tuesday 2nd September at 12 noon. Family flowers only please.
