Johnny Holland

On 15 October, 2022, Johnny died peacefully at University College Hospital, Galway. Predeceased by his parents John and Eva. Deeply mourned by his children Jennifer, John and Ellen and their mother Fiona, his brothers and sisters; Mike, Maura, Sheelagh, Jean, Noel and Chris, sisters-in-law Eileen and Aideen, brothers-in-law Aidan and Peter, nieces and nephews, the extended Holland and Lillis family, neighbours and the many friends he made wherever he went.

Reposing at the  O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91V1K8) on Tuesday, 18 October from 5.00p.m. to 7 p.m.   Arriving at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill, on Wednesday, 19 October for Requiem Mass at 11 o’clock.

Johnny will be laid to rest following Mass in the new cemetery, Bohermore. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations, if preferred, to Diabetes Ireland.

"I am standing upon the seashore.

A ship, at my side,

spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts 
for the blue ocean.

"There, she is gone."

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all.

And, just at the moment when someone says,  "There, she is gone,"

there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices 
ready to take up the glad shout,

"Here she comes!"
