The death has occurred of

Joseph GRIFFIN

Palmerstown, Dublin / Carnaross, Meath / Ardclough, Kildare

Griffin, Joseph, 15th April 2025, late of Palmerstown and formerly of Carnaross, Co. Meath and Ardclough, Co. Kildare. Peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at the Beech Unit, Rathborne Nursing Home, Ashtown surrounded by his wife Mary, their son John and grandchildren, Damien, Matthew and Eva and fortified by the rites of the Church, Joe's earthly journey drew to a close.

 

Joe is deeply regretted by his wife Mary (nee McCarthy) of sixty two years, their son John, his wife Fiona, the grandchildren and their respective partners. He is also regretted by the surviving members of the Griffin family, his sister Nancy and his brother Eddie, also his niece Barbara and her husband Pat Dunne. Joe's death is also mourned by the surviving members of the McCarthy family, Aileen, Paddy, Fergus, Fr. Eugene and the late Frank. He was predeceased by his father Edward (Ned) Griffin and his mother Josephine, his sisters Mollie and Jodie and his brothers Jimmy and John. He is lovingly remembered by a large circle of friends and colleagues in the nursery and landscaping world.

 

As a very keen photographer he kept us all informed about the natural and animal world and won many awards for his creativity in the gardening world.

 

May He Rest In Peace.

 

Removal on Monday morning (21st April) to St.Paul of the Cross Church, Mount Argus, Lower Kimmage Road, Dublin 6W, arriving for Mass at 12.30pm. Burial afterwards in Esker Lawn Cemetery, Lucan.

 

Family flowers only, donations if desired to The Alzheimer's Society of Ireland.
