Josephine Bishop
(née O'Sullivan)

On May 14th, 2025, in the tender care of staff at Bantry General Hospital after a long illness borne with great dignity. JOSEPHINE (formerly of Caheragh) beloved wife and best friend of Sean, dear sister of Humphrey, Sarah (Hegarty), Mary (O’Leary) and Sheila (Collins), sister-in-law of the late Eileen (O’Sullivan). Sadly missed by her loving family, mother-in-law Kathleen, brothers-in-law Micháel, Curley, Ger and Paddy, sisters-in-law Eileen, Kay and Nora, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, kind neighbours and a large circle of friends.

May she rest in peace.

Josephine’s family would like to thank Dr. Eoghan Molloy and the team at the Haematology Department at Cork University Hospital, the Medical and Palliative Care Staff at Bantry General Hospital and all involved in her care throughout her illness.

Reposing in Coakley’s Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry on Friday May 16th from 6pm to 8pm with Vigil prayers at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday May 17th at 2pm at St Finbarr’s Church, Bantry (to view live stream please click here) followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery, Bantry. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to the Bantry Hospice Project, Newtown, Bantry.
