Josephine O'Connor
(née Corbett)

Coogan Park, Newcastle, Galway / Shantalla, Galway

Formerly Davis Road, Shantalla.

 

Peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Galway Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.

 

Beloved wife of the late Martin and much loved mother of Paul, Brendan and Martin. Predeceased by her brother Tom and sister Mary.

 

Deeply mourned and sadly missed by her sons, daughters-in-law Emily and Deirdre, Paul's husband Ian, brother Pádraig, her adored grandchildren Alannah, Cian, Elliot and Kaden, the extended O'Connor and Corbett family, neighbours and many friends.

 

May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace

 

Funeral arrangements

Monday, 20th April 2026

Josephine will lie in Repose at the O' Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91 V1K8) from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

 

Tuesday, 21st April 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Josephine at St. Joseph's Church, Presentation Road on arrival at 11.00 a.m.

Following Mass she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in Rahoon cemetery.

Parking Information

Please approach the funeral parlour entrance on foot from Fr. Burke Park.

Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within the Claddagh, on Henry Street and Sea Road.

Car parks within walking distance of the Parlour:

The Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch and Mill Street which is adjacent to the Garda Station.

There is limited space for immediate members of Josephine's family within the grounds of the funeral parlour. Some space is reserved for guests with mobility needs.
