LEE (née Summerville) Josie (Josephine). Late of Boston, Tubber, Co. Clare and formerly of Lisloughrey, Cong, Co. Mayo.

Peacefully on the 7th of March 2026 in the wonderful care of the staff at Galway University Hospital, in her 81st year, after a brief illness.

Josie is Pre-deceased by her husband Christy, by her parents Mattie and Bridie, by her brothers Jack & Patsy, by her sisters Catherine & Maureen and recently by her dear grandson TJ, by other much loved family members and friend’s.

Cherished and much loved Josie will be sadly missed by her children Christopher, Deirdre, Siobhan, Raymond, Eamon, Norman & Suzanne, by her sons-in-law Padraic, Thomas and by Norman’s partner Alice. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Bobby, Nicky, Kelly, Sarah, Micheál, Lisa, Gary, Tara, Rebecca, Daniel, Kieran, Ryan, Alex, Zara, Ruby, Caoimhe and Laoise. Deeply missed by her sisters Teresa, Paula, Bernie and Ann, sisters-in-law Phil, Ciss, Marie, Mary (Jamesie), Rita, Geraldine, Mary (Paschal), brothers-in-law Neil, John, Gabriel, Willie and Paschal, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, great neighbours, many friends and by her loyal and faithful friend her dog Patch.

Josie will lie in repose in Seomra Ciúin, within Gort Town Hall, Church Street, Gort, (H91 E0C8) on Monday evening, March 9th, from 5.30pm. Removal at 7.00pm to All Saints Church, Boston, Co. Clare for evening prayers (Arriving at 7.30 pm approx.). Requiem Mass on Tuesday, March 10th at 11 am. Josie’s funeral mass will be livestreamed on this link https://funeralslive.ie/josie-lee/ Followed by cremation and committal service at 2pm in Shannon Crematorium, Co. Clare. House private please.

The family deeply appreciates your kindness and support at this time. We wish to thank all who cared for Josie in her final days. Finally, a special word of thanks to our wonderful family, neighbours and friends for all they have done to help us in these difficult days.
