Kathleen McDermott (née Donovan), Kilberry, Athy, Co. Kildare passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Naas General Hospital on Monday 9th March, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Patricia and John Donovan, son-in-law Derek, sister Lil, brother Tommy and also Mary Donovan. Kathleen will be sadly missed by her loving husband Joe, sons and daughter, Martin, Elaine and Joseph, grandchildren James, Craig, Clodagh, Kayla, Darragh, Conor, Joseph and Maddison, nieces Geraldine and Tricia McEntee, daughters-in-law Vanessa and Denise, brothers and sisters Johnny, Narra, David, Mary and Junie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Kathleen will repose at Thompson's Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Wednesday, 11th March from 5pm – until the conclusion of the Rosary 7pm. Arriving to St. Michael's Parish Church, Athy, for Requiem Mass at 11am on Thursday 12th March 2026.

A private cremation service will take place later for family and close friends.
