The death has occurred of Kathleen (Kitty) Whelan, nee Kenny, Upper Kilree Street, Bagenalstown, Co Carlow.

Our dearly loved and precious mother passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday 17th January 2026, in her 96th year. We loved her with all our hearts and was the centre of all we did.

Pre-deceased by her husband and our father, Shem, whose spirit she always kept alive. Also pre-deceased by her siblings Ellie, Paddy, Mick, Jim, Molly, Jack, Bridge, Tom, Frank, Anne and Lar. Adored mother of Ellen, Catherine, Hannah, Breda and Annamai. Cherished Nana of Katie, Claire, Jack, Joseph, James, Ellie and Alfie. Sons-in-law Stephen, Aidan and John. Mourned by her sister-in-law Nuala, nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.

May Kathleen’s gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing at her home in Upper Kilree Street (R21 C850) from 2 - 8 pm on Monday. Funeral prayers at 6.30 pm.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning at 11.00 am in St. Andrew's Church Bagenalstown (R21 HF97). Followed by burial in Ballinkillen Cemetery (R21 Y004).
