Laurence "Lar" SHINE

SHINE, Laurence "Lar", late of Nutgrove Avenue, Rathfarnham, passed away peacefully on the 1st of December 2025, surrounded by his loving family, in the care of the staff at St. James’s Hospital.

Loving husband to Gertrude, beloved father to Maria, Laurence Junior and William, and grandad to Rhéa and Thomas Patrick, whom he adored. Lar will be dearly missed and remembered always by his heartbroken wife, daughter, sons, brother Joe, sister Mag, Laurence Junior's wife Sarah, William's partner Ciara, Maria's partner Eric, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all extended family, friends and neighbours.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses in St James’s Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Laurence during his short illness, bravely battled.

Lar will be reposing at the Larry Massey Funeral Home, Eden Centre, Grange Road, Rathfarnham, on Thursday (December 4th) from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Friday morning to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Churchtown, arriving for 10am Mass, followed by burial in Mt. Jerome Cemetery, Harold’s Cross.
