Liam (William) Hanney (Ex Naval Service – Óglaigh na hÉireann) Aughrim Court, Dublin 7 and formerly of O’Devaney Gardens, Dublin 7; passed away peacefully in the dedicated care of St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown, surrounded by his devastated family on the 1st September 2023, following an illness fought bravely and with the utmost courage and dignity.
Predeceased by his beloved life partner Rose Boyle and his much-loved parents Ellen and Billy Hanney. He is sadly missed by his heartbroken daughters Leah, Rose and Lauren; sisters Ellen, Sandra, Joany, Caroline, Martina and Bernadette; brothers Michael and Christopher; adored grandchildren Rian, Senan, Caoimhe, Neala and Kate; sons-in-law Vince and Niall; sister-in-law Mary; brothers-in-law Oliver, Alan, Robbie, Roddy, Mick and Jimmy; nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, good neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at his home on Monday, the 4th September 2023, from 6pm to 8pm. Removal to the Church of the Holy Family, Aughrim Street, Dublin 7, for Funeral Mass at 10am on Tuesday, 5th September 2023 (View Here), followed by burial in Glasnevin Cemetery.
The family would like to thanks Dr. Eavan Muldoon, Dr. Eugene G. Breen and their teams in the Mater Hospital for the excellent care they provided to Liam over a long period of time during his illness. We would also like to express our gratitude to Blanchardstown Home Help for their great support, especially his carers Anna, Donna and Nikey.
Liam was a proud Dubliner, Naval veteran, loyal confidant and good friend; he will be dearly missed.
