The death has occurred of Lois Dorothy Tobin (née Brown)
Newcastle, Galway
(Formerly Hull, Yorkshire, England) Lois died peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of St David’s Retirement Home. Very sadly missed by her loving husband of 64 years, Professor Sean Tobin and their children Siobhan (London), Brendan, Adrian (Perth WA), Ciaran and Michael and grandchildren Niamh, Rhys, Dylan, Joseph, Cara, Danny, Luna, Liam, Sean, Oran and Fionn, by her brother Cedric, daughters-in-law Kate and Tara, brothers-in-law Liam, Desmond and Kieran her close family members Ann, Eva and Orna and the extended family and friends.
Lois was a gifted teacher and was an administrator and facilitator of many organisations over the years including the Business and Professional Women of Ireland (of which she was an early president), the Galway Family Heritage Society and a founding member and Secretary of the Lady Gregory Autumn Gathering. In an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 a private funeral in memory of Lois will take place on Monday, 28th December, 2020 at Galway Cathedral in accordance with current Government guidelines. Up to 25 mourners can attend the Church. Funeral after Mass to Rahoon Cemetery. This Mass will be live-streamed on the Cathedral webcam and also on the Cathedral facebook page. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the Galway Hospice. May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace
