Maelíosa Stafford

Highfield Park, Galway City, Galway

It is with deep sadness that Maelíosa's family share the news of his sudden death at his home in Sydney on  Easter Monday 10 April 2023.

 

Predeceased by his parents Seán and Máire Stafford and his infant sister Niamh.

 

Deeply loved and mourned by his wife Carolyn , his children Eoghan, Cian, Aelia , Benen and grandchild Banjo. He will be sadly missed by  his sisters Órfhlaith and Fionnuala, brothers Conall and Ruairí, daughter-in-law Ceren, Cian’s partner Matilda and his extended family.

 

His loss will also be felt by his friends and past colleagues of Scoil & Coláiste Iognáid,An Taibhdhearc, Druid Theatre, and the wider Galway Arts Community.

 

Bhásaigh Maelíosa Stafford, aisteoir agus léiritheoir. Méala mór a bhás dá theaghlach agus do mhuintir na hamharclainne anseo i nGaillimh, a chathair dhúchais, in Éirinn agus san Astráil.

Comhbhrón lena bhean Carolyn agus a chlann, lena dheartháireacha agus lena a dheirfiúracha: Ruairí, Fionnuala, Órfhlaith, Conall, a ghaolta agus a chairde go léir.

 

Maelíosa’s life will be celebrated later this month in Sydney, Live-streaming link to follow and, at a later date family and friends will gather to celebrate his life also in Galway.
