Ag a deich a chlog tráthnóna Dé hAoine, 19ú Nollaig, d’imigh Margaret (Peg) ar shlí na fírinne.

On Friday, 19th December, Margaret (Peg) died peacefully in her 97th year surrounded by her loving family, in the compassionate care of the staff at Caiseal Geal Nursing Home, Castlegar. Predeceased by her husband Paddy, parents Stephen and Margaret and siblings John, Martin, Mikey, Pat, Stephen, Peter, Eileen, Mary, Bridie and Julia.

 

Margaret will always be loved and missed by her children Ger, Maug, Denis and Trish, sons-in-law Tom and John and daughter-in-law Angela, adored grandchildren Deirdre, Conor, Kate, Dara, Ciara and Aodán, Deirdre’s husband Conan and great-grandchildren Fiadh and Cillian. Sadly, missed by her nieces and nephews, godchildren, lovely neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Sunday, 21st December 2025

Margaret will lie in repose at the Church of the Holy Family, Funeral Parlour, Mervue from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. There will be no Removal into the Church this evening. The entrance to the funeral parlour is through the Church and the exit is at car park level with wheelchair accessibility.

 

Monday, 22nd December 2025

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Margaret on arrival at the Church of the Holy Family, Mervue at 11 a.m. Following Mass, she will be laid to rest with her beloved Paddy in Carrowbrowne Cemetery, Castlegar.
