In the early hours of Thursday, 12th February 2026, Marie died peacefully in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. She faced illness from June 2025 with great courage, dignity, and strength.

Predeceased by her parents, John and Gertrude, and her brother Peter. Beloved wife of Des and devoted mother of Killian, Ben, and Olivia. Marie is deeply mourned and will be sadly missed by her husband, children, their partners Veronica, Violaine, and Adam and her five adored grandchildren: Louis, Charlie, Jack, Peter and Hugh, all of whom she cherished dearly. She will also be fondly remembered with great love by her sister Eleanor, nieces and nephews, the extended Mc Sharry and Garvey families, and her many friends, former colleagues, and neighbours in Cruachan Park.

Funeral arrangements

Sunday, 15th February 2026

Marie will lie in repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91V1K8) from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. There will be no Removal to Church this evening.

Monday, 16th February 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Marie on arrival at The Sacred Heart Church, Seamus Quirke Road, at 11:30 a.m. Following Mass, she will be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery. This Mass will be live streamed : Here
