Marie’s family are deeply saddened to share the news of Marie’s death after a short illness borne with amazing dignity and courage on the 1st April 2026. She died peacefully surrounded by her heartbroken family in the excellent care of the nursing staff and carers at University Hospital, Galway.

 

Marie is deeply mourned by her dearly loved daughter Belinda and son Mark, son-in-law Seán, precious grandchildren Adam, Allie, Evan and Eoin, siblings, Michael, Bernie, Judith, Paul, Robert and Gerard and their families, lovely neighbours, work colleagues, and many friends. Marie is sadly predeceased by her son Jason, sister Ruth and her parents Michael and Judy.

 

May her gentle caring soul be reunited with her loved ones

Funeral Arrangements:

Good Friday, 3rd April 2026

Marie will lie in repose at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, (H91 V1K8) from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

 

Holy Saturday, 4th April, 2026

The Liturgy of the word will be celebrated for Marie at 11 a.m. on arrival at the Jesuit (Jes) Church, Sea Road.

**Marie had asked that the family home remain private at this time. She has also requested that the interment be held privately, and that there be no book of condolence.
