Marina Flynn

Formerly of Menlough, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway

 

Marina passed away peacefully with her family by her side and in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Joseph’s Ward, University Hospital, Galway on Sunday, 29th March 2026. Predeceased by her father Pat.

 

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her mother Teresa, brothers and sisters James, Suzanne, Finola Di Nuzzi, Thomas, Richard, Eoin, Olive Fahy and Ruth Conroy, brothers-in-law Giovanni, Dave and Sean, sisters-in-law Geraldine, Bernie, Barbara and Lorraine, by her much loved nieces and nephews including her Godchildren Emma, Leona, Niamh, Jessica, Patrick, Eanna, Isabella, Chloe, Shane, Aoife, Luca (Godchild), JJ. Grace, Jane, Conor, Amelia (Godchild), Eli (Godchild) Ronan and Leon, uncles and aunts , relatives, neighbours and her many friends.

 

May her kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

 

Funeral Arrangements

Thursday, 2nd April 2026

Marina will lie in Repose at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91 V1K8) from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Private Cremation.

Family flowers only by request. Donations (if desired) in memory of Marina will be gratefully accepted by the Galway Hospice.

Marina’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of St. Joseph’s Ward, University Hospital Galway, and the Oncology Department at the Galway Clinic for their exceptional care and kindness.

 

Parking Information

Please approach the funeral parlour entrance on foot from Fr. Burke Park.

Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within the Claddagh, on Henry Street and Sea Road,

Car Parks within walking distance of the parlour: The Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch and Mill Street which is adjacent to the Garda Station.

There is limited space for the immediate members of Marina’s family within the grounds of the funeral parlour. Some space is reserved for guests with mobility needs. Because it is used by those who may need to come and go, it cannot be held for the full duration of the funeral.

 

Additional parking available on Dr. Colohan Road and in the Whitestrand/Salthill area.
