MARION CHATTERTON
(née KELLEHER)

CHATTERTON (née Kelleher), Marion Frances – (Cork, formerly of Basildon, Essex) peacefully, passed away on July 18th, 2025, at Brid Haven Nursing Home. Born on April 18th, 1934, beloved daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Kelleher, and cherished sister of the late Katherine (Eileen), Elizabeth (Betty), and Patrick (Pat). Devoted wife of the late Stanley, loving mother to Neil and Sean, mother-in-law to Joanne and Cheryl, adored grandmother to Liam, Connor, Gabriella, and Charlotte, great-grandmother to Maverick, Kennedy, Campbell, and Hayes. Marion will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Funeral Mass will take place at 2.00pm on Thursday (24th) at St. Brigid’s Church, Crosshaven, followed by burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

May she find eternal peace and rest, reunited with those who went before her.

Marion left Ireland in her early 20s, met and married Stanley in London in 1956, and they settled in Basildon, Essex, where they raised their sons, Neil (born 1959) and Sean (born 1969). In 1987, Marion and Stanley returned to Cork, where they enjoyed many happy years until Stanley’s passing in 2008. Marion had a zest for life and cherished her family vacations in Crosshaven. A resident of Brid Haven Nursing Home since 2019, she and her family are deeply grateful for the loving and compassionate care of the staff.
