Mark Canavan

The death has occurred of Mark Canavan, Gurtherulla, Glann,​​​​​​Oughterard, Co. Galway.

Mark passed away peacefully in the exceptional care of the staff of Moycullen Nursing Home on Saturday September 6th 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Catherine Canavan, his wife Mary (nee Enright), and his sister Mae.

Deeply regretted by his daughters Ann Marie and Martina, his son John, sons-in-law Gerry and Pat, daughter-in-law Sarah, All 9 of his adored grandchildren, his brother Jimmy and wife Kathleen (Moycullen), sisters-in-law Kathleen Keyes and Anne O’Reilly, brothers-in-law Michael and Tom Enright (Limerick), his nephew John , his nieces Marian and Carmel and their families, his wonderful neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing at Walsh’s Funeral Home, Oughterard (H91EV52) on Tuesday September 9th from 5pm to 7pm. Removal from his daughter Ann Marie’s house in Ardvarna (H91VE2F) on Wednesday morning to Our Lady of the Valley Church, Glann (H91RYDO) for Requiem Mass at 12 noon on September 10th 2025.
Following Mass Mark will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Mary in Glann Cemetery.
