Mary Balfe

The death has occurred of Mary Balfe, Blarney Park, Dublin and formerly of Carrig, Blessington, Co. Wicklow, who peacefully passed away in Beaumont Hospital on 16th February 2025. Beloved and loving daughter of the late Walter and Catherine. Predeceased by Margaret, Jim, Bridie, and Angela. Will be dearly missed by her family, Kay, Betty, Sean, and Walter. Aunt and mentor to her adored nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and loyal friend to so, so many. Sadly missed by her sisters, brothers, sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, neighbours in Wicklow and Dublin, former work colleagues and a wide circle of friends. Especially missed by her long-term carers and friends Kate and Pam and her ’second family,’ the Barretts.

Mary’s family would like to thank all the staff of Beaumont Hospital who cared for Mary in the last two weeks and also the staff of the Irish Wheelchair Association, Muscular Dystrophy Ireland and all the carers who supported Mary over many years, enabling her to lead such a positive and productive life.

Reposing in Clarkes Funeral Home, Burgage More, Blessington, Co. Wicklow W91 YN79 on Tuesday 18th February from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Funeral to the Church of Our Lady, Blessington on Wednesday 19th February arriving for 11.00 am Funeral Mass followed by burial in Burgage Cemetery, Blessington, Co. Wicklow
