Mary (Ciss) Chambers (née Whelan), Castle Park, Athy, Co. Kildare, passed away peacefully on 15th February, 2026 at Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Michael, sons Harry, Willie, Declan, Robert and Donal and her brothers Ned and Andy. Treasured mother of Kathleen, Mary, Josie, Eddie, Laura, Geraldine, David, Kenneth, Brendan, Ashling, Jacinta and Damien, all her grandchildren, all her great grandchildren, and all her great great grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her sister Kathleen, brothers Ger and Mick, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Ciss will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Tuesday 17th February, 2026 from 4pm until removal at 5.45pm to arrive at 6pm for Reception prayers in St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy. Requiem Mass on Wednesday 18th February at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Michaels (New) Cemetery.
