O’DONOVAN (Douglas, Cork and late of Killeagh, Co. Cork): it is with deep sorrow we share the passing of our beloved MARY ELIZABETH (Elsie, née Lynch) peacefully, under the care of the staff at Cork University Hospital on the 5th February 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her daughter Orla, sister Ina, father Cornelius (Con) and mother Kathleen.
Elsie was the loving Mum to children Paul, Barbara, Cian, Gavin and Darragh and proud Granny to her six adoring grandchildren Saoirse, Orla, Adam, Aidan, Callum, and Ellie. She will be fondly remembered by her brother Patrick and sister Claire, as well as her son-in-law Cian, daughters-in-law Amanda, Harriet, and Chelsea, as well as her extended family and friends, all of whom were a source of great joy to her in her life and comfort to her in her final days.
Elsie was known for her sharp sense of humour along with her warmth, and a fierce love of her friends and family. Her spirit will never be forgotten and will live on forever in the memories of those who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Cork University Hospital for their care for Elsie.
Reposing at the Temple Hill Funeral Home, Boreenmanna Road of Jerh. O'Connor Ltd. on Sunday (February 8th) from 4.00pm to 5.00pm.
Requiem Mass at 11.30am on Monday (February 9th) in St. Columba's Church, Douglas
Funeral afterward to Killeagh Old Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to Cork University Hospital
