MARY FLAHERTY
(née Forde)

FLAHERTY (nee Forde) Mary. Burren View, Ennis Road, Gort, Co. Galway and late of St. Colman’s Terrace, Gort, Lisheenavalla, Claregalway, Co. Galway and New York, U.S.A. Peacefully, on the 14th of December, 2025 in the tender care of the staff of University Hospital Galway.

Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Paddy in 2015 and by other much loved family members and many friends.

Mary will forever be in the hearts of her loving family, a beautiful kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known her. Cherished and much loved mother of Mary Teresa, Pat, Bernie and Sean. Fondly remembered by her son-in-law Andy, daughter-in-law Ann and by her adored grandchildren Casey and Sean. Sadly missed by her brother Frank (Lisheenavalla), sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, cousins, lovely neighbours, many loyal friends and by the extended Flaherty and Forde families.

Mary will lie in repose at her residence Burren View, Ennis Road, Gort, (H91 NCF6) on Wednesday evening, December 17th from 4pm. Removal at 7pm to St. Colman’s Church Gort. Requiem Mass Thursday December 18th at 1 pm. Mary will be laid to rest afterwards in St. Colman’s Cemetery, Gort. Flowers welcome as Mary loved flowers. This funeral mass will not be livestreamed.

Mary’s family deeply appreciate your kindness, love and support at this time. We thank all who cared for Mary. Finally, a special word of thanks to our wonderful family, neighbours and friends for all they have done for us over these difficult days.
