Mary Heffron (née Doherty), Doolough, Geesala, Ballina, Co. Mayo peacefully at the Aras Deirbhle Nursing Home, Belmullet on 29th March 2021. Predeceased by her husband John, brothers John and Martin and sister Nora. She will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family – sister Kathleen (Edinburgh, Scotland), nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral will depart from McDonnells Funeral Home, Belmullet on Wednesday evening at 6.15pm with remains arriving at St. Colmcille’s Church, Geesala at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am followed by burial in Geesala Cemetery.

In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, Mary’s funeral will be private for immediate family only. For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes through the town on Wednesday at 4.30pm from the Aras Deirbhle Nursing Home, Belmullet enroute to McDonnell’s Funeral Home, Belmullet and later as it departs from the Funeral Home at 6.15pm enroute to St. Colmcille’s Church, Geesala and enroute to Geesala Cemetery on Thursday, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the footpaths, roadsides, outside the church and cemetery ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard. The Heffron family appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.

Video streaming of the Funeral Mass and all other funeral services for the late Mary Heffron will be available for viewing on McDonnell Funeral Directors Facebook page on Thursday after 8 p.m. 

Memorial Mass for the soul of Mary will be held at a later date. For those who cannot attend due to restrictions, please leave a personal message for the family on the condolence book on this webpage.
