Mary Josephine (Marie) Murphy
(née O' Keeffe)

Carrowmeer, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Clare

Marie died peacefully surrounded by her family under the care of the University Hospital Limerick Trauma Ward, shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday.

 

Former church organist for many years in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Newmarket-on-Fergus and previously in Mary Immaculate Church, Shannon. Piano teacher to countless children in Shannon and Newmarket-on-Fergus.

 

Predeceased by her beloved husband Kevin (Late of Met Eireann). Loving mother of Enda Sterne (Livermore, California, USA), Keefe Murphy (South Cumbria, United Kingdom) and Martine Greenlee (Reillanne, France). Sadly missed by her children, sons-in-law Philip Sterne and George Greenlee, daughter-in-law Tansy Hardy, adored grandchildren Catherine, Robert, Tansy, Aideen and her husband Matt, great-granddaughter Lorena, and dear friend and support Sean Slattery.

 

The family greatly appreciates the Clarecare carers, whose compassionate and diligent attention enabled her to stay in her home as long as she did.

May she Rest in Peace.

 

Marie will repose in McMahon's Funeral home, Newmarket-on-Fergus this Friday (November 1st) from 7.00pm to 8.00pm, followed by removal to Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Funeral Mass Saturday (November 2nd) at 12.00, followed by burial in Fenloe Cemetery.
