Mary (Mai) T. Gilligan
Mary “Mai” T. Gilligan passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025. She was born on January 29, 1939 in Flagmount, County Clare, Ireland to the late Joseph and Mary (neé Ryan) Sammon. Mary is survived by her husband, Michael, and her children, John, Michael (Lynn Marie O’Flaherty), and Ann Marie. Her greatest pride in life was her adoring grandchild, Jamie Lynn.
Predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Dennis Sammon, and sister, Bridie O’Malley. Mary is survived by her siblings, Betty Queally, Josie Mahon, Maggie Malone, and Joseph Sammon and 12 nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Sunday, January 5, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM in Hodder Farenga Funeral Home, 899 McLean Avenue, Yonkers, NY. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM in St. Paul the Apostle Church, Yonkers, NY. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
