Mary Meagher

Mary Meagher of Blackrock, Co. Dublin, passed peacefully, in the company of her close family on Friday, February 16, 2024, following a difficult illness fought with dignity, grace and absolute determination.

 

A loving mother to Cian and beloved sister to Aedín, Declan, Denis and Fiontán, Mary was predeceased by her husband Patrick McCarroll, the love of her life, and also by her parents Donie and Máirín and brother Donal. Particularly in the last few years, she received incredible support from her steadfast group of friends. Despite her illness, she always lived life on her own terms.

 

Mary has donated her body to the UCD School of Medicine for medical research.

A remembrance Mass for Mary will take place on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 10am at St. John The Baptist Church, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.

 

To sum up Mary’s impact on her family and wide circle of friends, “What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others”.
