Mary O'Brien
(née Raftery)

Mary O’Brien, nee Raftery, Grange, Athenry, Co. Galway and formerly of Cashla Lodge, Athenry.  Passed away peacefully from this life in her 97th year, in the presence of her loving family and the caring staff of Brooklodge Nursing Home. Pre-deceased by her husband Joe, son Martin and grandson Niall, brother Padraic and sisters Margaret, Bridie and Joan. 

Deeply missed by her loving family, sons Tomas, Gerard, Jarlath (Florida), Vincent (Virginia), Sean, Paul (France) and Ignatius, daughters Marian (Moran), Gretta (Greaney), Martina (Loughnane) and Claire (Parr), daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren (34) and great-grandchildren (18), brothers Walter, Tom & Ignatius, sisters Una & Lily, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Our Lady’s Chapel, Lackagh  on Tuesday evening, 8th November 2022, from 4pm to 7pm, with removal to the Church of Our Lady of Knock, Lackagh. Requiem Mass on Wednesday in The Church of Our Lady of Knock, Lackagh, at 12 noon.  Burial to follow in the New Cemetery, Athenry. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to Galway Simon Community (https://galwaysimon.ie/donate-to-galway-simon/).  Mass in Lackagh will be live streamed on www.Lackaghchurchliveyoutube and also broadcast on parish radio 106.9 FM.
