Mary (Pauline) Phelan

Mary (Pauline) Phelan, (Connolly Street, Kilkenny City) died peacefully after a long illness bravely fought on 21st February 2025 in the excellent care of all the staff in The Suir Ward, St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Predeceased by her parents Edward (Drug) and Katherine (Kitty) Phelan (nee Kealy) and her brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted by her best friend and partner Tommy Carroll, sons Christopher, Sebastian, Ivan and daughters Olga and foster daughter Lisa. Pauline will be forever missed by her sister Sarah (Sadie) Buckley (Kerry) and Christine, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends and good neighbours.

Pauline will be reposing in Shasby’s Funeral Home, Kilkenny City on Monday 24th (February) from 5pm to 7pm with rosary and vigil prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Canice’s Church on Tuesday (25th) at 11am followed by burial in St. Kieran’s Cemetery.

Pauline’s family would like to acknowledge and thank all those who cared for Pauline at home in particular her GP Dr Chambers, community nurses, HSE Carers and Bluebird Care.

The Funeral Cortege will walk from Pauline’s residence on the 25th (Feb) at 10.40am to St. Canice’s Church and onwards to St. Kieran’s Cemetery.
