SULLIVAN, Mary T. (O’Connell) “Mary Irish” 83 of Braintree formerly of Everett and Kenmare, Co. Kerry, Ireland, passed away July 12, 2014, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife and life companion of over 44 years to John “Sean” Sullivan. Daughter of the late John and Mary (Sullivan) O’Connell. Devoted sister of Abbey O’Connell of Brighton, Felix O’Connell of Lismore, Co. Waterford, Ireland, John O’Connell of England, the late Kathleen, Peggy, Gerald and Danny. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends both here and in Ireland. She was a special spirit loved by all she met. She was a longtime employee of Powers Candy Co., of the North End of Boston and of Golden Brown Donuts of Quincy. She was member of the Catholic Daughters at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree and was a former member of the choir.
Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree MA until 9:15am Thursday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, So. Braintree Sq. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00pm. Burial will take place in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
