The death has occurred peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, of Maura Calpin (née Gaughan), Tallaghan Bawn, Geesala. Predeceased by her parents John and Mary Gaughan, her sister Peggy, her brother Harry and her nephew Kevin Gaughan. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her beloved husband Tony, daughters Marie (Barrack), Anna (Herefordshire), Catriona (Ballina), Sheila (Castlebar), sons Padraic (Castlebar & Tallaghan Bawn), Sean (Northampton), and Anthony (Castlebar & Tallaghan Bawn). Forever missed by her sisters Lucy and Breege, brothers Sean and Hughie, her adored grandchildren Sandra, Amy, Caroline, Louise, Sarah, Shauna, Antonia, Rosie, Gracie, Jess, Sarah, Tony, Michaela, Holly, Jamie, and Ryan, and her cherished great-granddaughter Éabha Mai. Deeply regretted by her daughter-in-law Sharon, sons-in-law Harry, Peter, Fran, and Padraic, as well as her nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at McDonnell’s Funeral Home, Belmullet, on Saturday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, with funeral arriving at St. Pius X Church, Doohoma, at 8:00pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 12 noon, followed by burial in Doohoma Cemetery.
