Maura Hanniffy
(née Holland)

Formerly of Tawin Island, Maree, Oranmore

 

On Monday, 26th January, Maura died peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at the Bon Secours Hospital, Galway with her family by her side.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Tommie and grand-daughter Katie, her brother Thomás and sister Breege.

She will be sadly missed by her children Mary, Bernadette, Gerard and Noel together with her son-in-law Don, daughters-in-law Bernie and Deirdre, grandchildren Kenneth, Andrea, James, Bryan, Siobhan, Tommie and Sean, and great-grandchildren Tommie and Mikey. Fondly remembered and sadly missed also by her brothers and sister, Padraig, Timothy and Sr.Cyprian (Eileen) (U.K.) and by the extended Holland and Hanniffy family, her many friends and neighbours.

 

A Golden Heart stopped beating,

Hard working hands at rest,

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best.

 

 

Funeral Arrangements

Friday, 30th January, 2026

Maura will lie in Repose at the Church of the Holy Family Funeral Parlour, Mervue (H91FH52) from 4.30 p.m. with Removal at 6 p.m. into the Church.

Access to the Funeral Parlour is through the Main Church Entrance. There is a Wheelchair assisted entrance also at ground level through the car park.

 

Saturday, 31st. January, 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Maura at 1 p.m. (1 o'clock) and following Mass Maura will be laid to rest with her beloved Tommie in Rinville cemetery, Oranmore. Livestream link for Mass https://www.churchtv.ie/mervue/
