Pruntus, Ballyhea and formerly of Broghill North, Charleville.

 

Michael aged 92 after a long illness borne so bravely.

 

Michael passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family and in the tender and loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff of Mallow General Hospital on Monday, September 8th, 2025.

 

Predeceased by his dearly beloved son Michael and daughter-in-law Valerie.

 

Brother of the late Hannah, Sean, Tommy, Patrick (Fagan), Peggy and Gerry.

 

Michael will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, best friend and carer Maureen (née Moloney), much loved father of Helen (O'Mahony), Margo (Crean), Geraldine (Ward), Gerard and Kevin, sister Nellie Burke (Surrey) and brother Danny.

 

Sadly missed by his loving wife, family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law Paddy, Timmy and Tommy, daughter-in-law Genevaite, Gerard's partner Isabelle, sisters-in-law Bunty, Breda and Sue, brothers-in-law Christy Quirke and Tom Moloney, nieces, nephews, relatives, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Hawe - O'Keeffe's Funeral Home (P56 YY15), Bakers Road, Charleville, on Wednesday evening from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. (Prayers at 7:00pm).

 

Reception into St. Mary's Church, Ballyhea on Thursday morning for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, after which Michael will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery, Charleville.

The family wish to acknowledge the exceptional care given to Michael most recently by Dr. Rafique and the medical staff in Charleville Primary Care Centre, Mallow General Hospital, UHL, Nazareth House, CUH, St. John's Hospital, Limerick, Pettit's Pharmacy, Charleville, Monsignor O'Brien and in the past by Anne and Tom Molloy.

Thanks also to his adored granddaughter Carmel and very caring home helpers Charlotte, Helen, Breda and Margaret and most recently Blue Bird Care, Mallow.
