Michael Hession

Michael Hession, Kingsland, Athenry and formerly of Boston passed peacefully on January 28th 2021.   Brother of the late Sean Hession (Boston), Noirín Hession (Park, Athenry), Paul Hession (Athenry).  Mourned by son David Hession (Donegal), daughter Collette Bones (England) and daughter in-law Grace, adored grandfather of Dáithí, Conor, Ruairí, Connie-Ann, Gráinne, Oisín, Sorcha, Lauren and Christian. Michael will be sadly missed by his brother Frank Hession (Killaloe), sisters Detta Molloy (Castlebar), Rose McMullin (Boston) and Della Stockwell (Letchworth, England), extended family, neighbours and friends.

Due to Government advice regarding public gatherings a Private Funeral Mass for immediate family only will take place at 1pm on Monday February 1st in the Church of The Assumption, Athenry, followed by cremation at Shannon Crematorium.  Ceremonies private to the immediate family due to ongoing Covid restrictions.  Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, but due to current restrictions unfortunately cannot, please leave a personal message in the condolence section below. The Funeral Mass will be live streamed on HTTPS://www.churchmedia.tv/camera/st-marys-parish-1 and can be listened to on Parish radio 106.5fm.  Family flowers only by request, donations if desired to St Mary’s GAA Club Development Fund, Athenry. The family would like to thank the staff of University Hospital Galway for their caring attentions in his last days.

The family would also like to thank his wide circle of friends and neighbours for their loving care and support of Michael over the years.
