The death has occurred of Michael James (Jimmy) McDonagh, Knockdoemore, Claregalway, Co. Galway, formerly of Coolbock, Riverstown, Co Sligo. Peacefully on September 8th 2021 after a short illness.

 

Jimmy was dearly loved by his wife Mary, sons James (deceased), John and Brendan, daughter in law Maria, sisters Alice and Mary (Sr Hilda), sisters-in-law, brother in law, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

 

Rest in Peace

 

Mass for Jimmy McDonagh will take place in the Church of Our Lady of Knock, Lackagh (H65 N129) on Sunday, at 2.00 p.m. followed by private cremation on Monday.

 

All funeral arrangements take place in accordance with current government guidelines on funerals and public gatherings. The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged and participants both inside and outside the church should strictly observe social distancing and refrain from hugging or shaking hands. 

 

Mass will be live-streamed on www.lackaghchurchliveyoutube and also broadcast on parish radio, 106.9 FM.

 

Anyone who wishes to do so, are invited to leave a message of condolence in the section (Condolences) below.

 

Jimmy’s family wish to acknowledge the support they have received from family, neighbours and friends. They are indebted and wish to thank sincerely Dr. Janusz Krawczyk along with doctors and nurses of the Haematology Department, the doctors, nurses and staff in Oncology and the many wards at Galway University Hospital, who attended to Jimmy over the years. A heartfelt special thanks the public health nurse, carers and homecare teams and the Irish Cancer Society who have looked after Jimmy and Mary so well, over the years.  They are deeply appreciative of the kindness provided.
