The death has occurred of
Michael (Mick) DOWNES
DOWNES Michael (Mick), (Rathmines and formerly Johnstown, Cabinteely); January 5th, 2026, (peacefully), surrounded by his beloved wife Mary and daughter Rebecca; under the caring staff of John Houston Ward, St. James’s Hospital. Michael will be very sadly missed by Mary and Rebecca, his son-in-law Enda, sisters Mary and Anne, brothers Kevin and John, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his sister Helen and his brother Pat.
Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, 54 Aungier Street, Dublin 2, on Thursday 8th January, from 5 to 7 pm. Michael’s funeral Mass will take place on Friday (9th January) at 10am, in the Church of Mary Immaculate Refuge of Sinners, Rathmines (and may be viewed on the following link; https://www.rathminesparish.ie/webcam/), followed by cremation at 11.30 am in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, (https://www.mountjerome.ie/victorian-chapel-service/).
